First MPowered Scholarship Established

MPowered Events is excited to announce that our continued business success has enabled us to commit to creating our first scholarship for an at-risk young woman though our partner, The College Success Foundation. This scholarship will provide $5,000 a year for four years to allow a low-income young woman from the Puget Sound area to attend and graduate from a college or university in Washington. Selection criteria include academic performance, Hispanic background, and evidence of goal orientation with an interest in business and entrepreneurship. We expect to announce the recipient of our first scholarship in the spring of 2009.

Seattle foundation awards grant to MPowered Events

MPowered Events is honored to announce that we have been awarded a $1000 grant through the Seeds of Compassion Youth Grants Program of the Mother House Fund. This grant is targeted to help underwrite our 2009 MPowered Scholarships fundraising event. The funds raised at the event will accelerate our scholarship program while increasing community awareness for the need for greater access to college education for qualified at-risk populations here in Washington State. About The Mother House Fund: The Mother House Fund’s Vision is to sustain, nurture and improve the lives of children and families, wildlife and the environment. . .and in the process create local and global connections that strengthen the notion of One Earth, One Family. Our Seeds of Compassion Youth Grants Program addresses needs by offering “seed grants
